May 2020 Alternative Fashion Bargains

Fun Fact : I almost never buy any clothes full price, your Glam Goth believes in bargains and setting boundaries with regards to spending (my bank account is nodding in disbelief).

Second Fun Fact : I operate a one in, one out policy when it comes to my wardrobe. If I want to buy something new, I will first give some clothes to charity or sell on Depop or Ebay – if it is something more valuable / unused. I feel good doing this, and it helps keep my wardrobe fresh and not stuffed to the brim. Unless your wardrobe is Narnia, it is not realistic to keep buying stuff anyway (* searches for Narnia wardrobe on Ikea *).

Finally, I highly recommend the Honey browser extension, this extension searches for all discount codes available once you are in a checkout page (stylish Scrooge Mcducks raise your fist in the air!). It has saved me a fair amount, and also you can collect gold coins which will translate in a voucher at some point. Here is my invite if you want to join.

Boohoo currently has a 30% off promotion thang running on sale items, and you bet your bottom dollar, I jumped on it. They still have some ‘Halloween’ stuff available, and the prices are spookily friendly!

ASOS does not have something as crazy going on, but I managed to nab some cute bits and pieces. I am really looking forward to the shoes, I don’t normally wear these kind of shoes, but I think they would look perfect for a glam cocktail night. It also means they are work friendly, which can be quite difficult when you love rocking spikes and studs.

The crop mesh top can be a good alternative to Killstar’s.  Amazon/Ebay also have tons of boleros for under a tenner (will make a post about it).

ASOS actually has some really cute chokers, I have not purchased them as I am limiting my spending, but I really like these.

Which is your favourite? And have you done some lockdown shopping?

  1. As usual you’ve picked beautiful stuff. I’m currently a bit obsessed with chokers, the one from Asus especially catches my eye. It’s on my todo list to make a few chokers for me – I have already saved some inspirations and this one definitely comes onto that list.
Interesting to hear you have success with Honey. I added it to my browser over a year ago, but seems like it doesn’t work well with the shops I normally use. I guess it’s more successful in the US, so good to hear at least it works in some parts of Europe.

    • Chokers can be so versatile! Id love to make some too, I have some ideas on some feminine ones with velvet I might make. Cant wait to see what you come up with !!
With honey, maybe it has improved since then? because so far, it has worked on Asos, Boohoo and quite a few other shops, I think the more people use it, the bigger the database of discount codes gets 🙂 Thanks so much for visiting!
