Take Me Down to Greenwich City

Soooooooo I am going to pretend I am the Axl Rose of writing and come up with the excuse that I am late in submitting blog posts because I have been busy watching Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles IV : The Secret of the Booze …  Eh, if Axl got away with it, then why not me? After all, we do share a love for not turning up to work on time and being dragged on our sha-na-na-na-na-na-neeees-eees!

In reality, I have spent my “free from work” days (also free from gluten, methane and lame janes)  planning how to spend my free time, then actually using the free time to do more planning in front of the 66th cup of coffee (by the way, it’s official, the Nero barista and I do not even need to communicate with each other anymore, it’s shove coffee at first sight now)….Procrastination is such a grey, haunting bitch, I am convinced that she is incarnated in Theresa May right now.

In any case, proper touristy fun was had  in East London a couple of weeks ago, when the Sun mooned its arse for its Not in a Lifetime gig of 2017.

There was a boat festival along the river and it reminded me of how much I want to attend a Metal cruise … All aboard the  AMEL AMARTH !!!

This was taken either in Canary Wharf or Canada Water.  All you need to know is that the station name started with ‘Cana’. I’ll blame the Ozzy in me for this early onset of Alzheimer.

After a little wander, we made it to the Emirates Cable Car station.  And we got on it, so I stopped taking silly pictures of the outside of the station like an overexcited Dave Mustaine watching James Hetfield’s mic failure at the Grammys.

View of the O2 from the cable car. The Thames looks like Download Festival’s community sweat, tears and bog contents. Oh. I know what I am talking about. Gagging thinking about it.

After the little 20 minutes round trip in the cable car, we got directed to a free exhibition about planes…really cool and unexpected.

When you can’t be Bruce Dickinson but are the captain of your own doomed plane : Doom Force One, All Aboard the Crazy Plane
And finally, a trip to Greenwich is not complete without a detour to the Observatory, which provides great all around views of the City (of Thieves):

I really enjoyed the scenery and I am looking forward to going back there once the Sun decides to come out of the English closet.
Oh you didn’t know?
Why of course, when we are not looking, the Sun is actually wearing a PVC apron, singing:
“I want to break free
I want to break free
I want to break free from your lies
You’re so self satisfied I don’t need you
I’ve got to break free
God knows, God knows I want to break free.”
